An iconic, 5,000 year old stone at the top of the Hill of Tara in Ireland has been vandalised. Paint now covers the Lia Fail Standing Stone and gardai are investigating. It must take somebody with mental problems to undertake such an act.
The Lia Fáil (Stone of destiny) is made of granite and was said in ancient texts to have been one of four treasures brought to Ireland by the Tuatha de Danann. When the true king stood upon it, it was said to emit a mighty roar.
